Please arrive to your appointment with a wash & go. Please refrain from using any oils or butters prior to your appointment (we will discuss why during your consultation). No pressure! the wash n go does not have to be perfect! In order to give you a precise and detailed cut (even if it’s a trim), I must be able to see your true curl pattern. No ponytails, buns, twists, braids, post-braid, blow out, straightened, etc. Please come in your naturally curly state.

I am located at 653 Washington Street, Unit A, Quincy, MA 02169. My suite is located in a salon called “Bbeauty Me.”

You are eligible for a curly cut if you wear your hair in its natural state 90% of the time. If you plan to straighten your hair regularly (weekly or monthly) you may not be ready for a curly cut. Curly cuts are provided to trim natural curls into your desired shape. Please only book if you are committed to wearing your hair in its natural state 90% of the time.

You can expect to be in the salon for about 2 hours.
-
Yes — if you are ready to cut all of your damage off! I can only enhance what you already have; I cannot make damaged/straight hair curly.
-
You must reschedule or cancel your appointment at least 48 hours in advance.
Same-day cancellations or no-shows are charged the full amount.
Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged 50% of the service.
This policy exists because schedule spots open up to 8 weeks in advance, and late cancellations make it difficult to fill that time.
-
Clean, botanical, water-soluble products are used. All products will be communicated to you during your appointment, and you’ll receive a product list by email afterward so you can continue your routine at home.
-
You can book a K-Tip consultation appointment through the booking link. A form and consultation are required, then your appointment will be scheduled about 2 weeks out if available. If you live far away, a mobile consultation can be done. Email me (Curlsbyjoyinfo@gmail.com) photos your hair, your goals, and then book your consult and we can do it via mobile if needed. Each set of K-tips is customized to your hair. I have a vast amount of textures. We will choose one texture that is the most similar to your natural hair.

Currently, new children under the age of 12 are not accepted. The salon sink and environment aren’t kid-friendly, and other stylists only take 18+ clients. There is a returning kids option for previous clientele from before the current location, but no new children under 12 may book.
-
Cash is preferred, but Zelle, credit/debit card, or Apple Pay are also accepted.
-
Visit the booking site via the “Book Now” icon in the menu. The salon uses Vagaro for booking, which requires creating a profile before selecting your appointment.
How do I ensure long term success
with my hair after the appointment?
I provide you with techniques, information, and guidance n how to take care of your hair during your appointment and in your follow-up email. I do multiple treatments on your curls during the appointment, and I properly assess the current state of your hair. This is a friendly reminder that I only see you maybe 3-4 times a year. Meaning, your haircare at home and consistency is crucial for long term hair health and success. Health doesn’t come from just one appointment, you have to commit to your hair and be consistent with your routine in order to see long term curl and scalp health.
