Start with washing once per week using a sulfate-free shampoo,. Always follow with a moisturizing conditioner and take your time detangling while the hair is fully saturated—working in sections from ends to roots to prevent shedding and breakage.

After rinsing, apply your leave-in and styling products while the hair is soaking wet. For best results, layer a curl cream or moisturizer first, then a gel for hold and definition. You can add a little extra water on top to help the product fully absorb and keep the curls hydrated as they dry.

Air drying is ideal, but you can also diffuse on low heat if needed. Avoid excessive heat styling, and always use a heat protectant if you do.

At night, protect the hair by putting it into loose braids or a pineapple and covering it with a satin or silk bonnet or scarf to reduce friction and frizz.
